Holes in Swiss Cheese

Hello My Internet Journal Online.

Have you ever wondered how holes get in Swiss cheese? I was making dinner tonight, which consisted of fried pork chops, baked macaroni and cheese, and green peas. I know, I know, I should have baked the pork chops, but I didn't.

I decided to be a little different, so I added a little mozzarella and Swiss cheese. It was the pre-sliced package of cheese that I had really forgotten about at the bottom of the lettuce crisper in the refrigerator. Well some of it was moldy. My mother taught me not to waste food, and pre-sliced cheese is too expensive to throw away unnecessarily. So I cut off the mold
and put a few slices in my macaroni. By the way, isn't mold in blue cheese?

Well, as I was standing there cutting the cheese into little bits i asked myself, "how do they get the holes in Swiss cheese?" More importantly, why do I care? Is it because Swiss cheese is distinct, different, stands out from the rest? If that is the case, why did I forget about it at the bottom of the lettuce crisper?

Til next time my Internet Journal Online.
