Thw Twins are Sick

Hello My Internet Journal Online Family.

The twins are sick. That is why I haven't posted for a few days. They both had their flu shot at the end of September, but I didn't give then the H1N1 vaccination. They are still home with me and don't go to daycare. After watching some of the side effects and recalls of the drug I decided not to give them the swine flu shot. If they start day school next year then I most likely will give them both vaccines.

Well back to the cold that they currently have. It's a chest cold for the most part. Both of the twins have bad coughs and runny noses, but no fever thank God. My little boy is coughing so hard that it causes him to bring up his food after he eats and it's hard to get him to drink anything. My little girl's cough as a little less severe and she's only vomited once.

But they are both miserable at night. I think I was able to squeeze 4 hours of sleep in last night. They sleep in the same room and once one fell asleep then the other one would wake up, start crying, and wake the other one back up. They both knocked out for the last time around 2am. My little girl was back up at 6am crying, stuffed up, and with a runny nose. So needless to say, I am tired. I may actually allow myself to take a 1 hour nap today while they nap. I'll let you know.

Til next time, my internet journal online family.

Merry Christmas to All

Merry Christmas to All of My Internet Journal Online Family.

It has been months since I have posted. Since it is Christmas Day, I have put the kids down for a nap, just put the last dish in the oven for dinner, my back is hurting and I'm tired, I might as well sit down to the computer and write a post. A woman's work is never done.

Well I have so many plans for this upcoming year. I was sick in the fall and really fell off in to a lazy/depressed slump up until recently. But that has gotten me nowhere. I have to "think and grow rich". Most of the issues in my life right now stem form being broke. So that's what I have to change, even in a recession. It is possible. I believe it.

So I will be posting on a more regular basis. I'll try to post every day, just for the fact that each post creates a link to my other websites. And since I don't have the money pay a SEO company to create links for me, or hope someone else accepts my comment and link on their blog, I will be creating my own.

Well to next time my internet journal online. And Merry Christmas again.

Can Cartoons be Racist or Prejudiced

Hello My Internet Journal Online.

Can cartoons be racist or prejudiced? Someone brought this to my attention a little while in regards to one particular cartoon. It is based on a Mexican little girl and her adventures. During these adventures they do teach children valuable lessons and some Spanish as well.

The part that actually bought about my question was the fact that she is almost always crossing a river or bridge or something. Why does a Mexican little girl always need to "cross a barrier" in order to get to "the prize/destination". Does that seem a little stereotypical to you?

And what about the cartoon based on animals where they sing and dance very well. You know the one, where they are always having an adventure in the backyard. Why are all of the characters visibly overweight, and why can't they play for a half an hour without eating something? The snacks more often than not exclude any vegetables or plain water. Why is that? Just my thoughts.

Holes in Swiss Cheese

Hello My Internet Journal Online.

Have you ever wondered how holes get in Swiss cheese? I was making dinner tonight, which consisted of fried pork chops, baked macaroni and cheese, and green peas. I know, I know, I should have baked the pork chops, but I didn't.

I decided to be a little different, so I added a little mozzarella and Swiss cheese. It was the pre-sliced package of cheese that I had really forgotten about at the bottom of the lettuce crisper in the refrigerator. Well some of it was moldy. My mother taught me not to waste food, and pre-sliced cheese is too expensive to throw away unnecessarily. So I cut off the mold
and put a few slices in my macaroni. By the way, isn't mold in blue cheese?

Well, as I was standing there cutting the cheese into little bits i asked myself, "how do they get the holes in Swiss cheese?" More importantly, why do I care? Is it because Swiss cheese is distinct, different, stands out from the rest? If that is the case, why did I forget about it at the bottom of the lettuce crisper?
